Privacy policy

b helps you find your next apartment in ChatGPT. The Human Judgment Company operates b and is responsible for the information described here. This policy covers findwithb.com, b’s apartment-search plugin, and messages you send us. It describes the current preview, which uses sample listings and photos.

Information we receive

• Apartment-search context. When you use b in ChatGPT, the host sends information to the tools you use. This may include your search text, areas, budget, move timing, desired apartment size, amenities, pets, commute preferences, and places such as your workplace or campus. Those places may include precise coordinates. b asks the host to pass a short housing-related summary instead of a full conversation; what is actually sent depends on the host and your use.
• Your interactions and inferred preferences. We process saved apartments, reactions, preference changes, selected areas, and the preferences inferred from that context to update the search. A temporary search identifier connects these interactions.
• Website and technical information. Our hosting provider processes connection information such as IP addresses, browser details, requested pages, and timestamps. The plugin logs request methods, tool names, selected request headers, response status, timing, and diagnostic errors. Its request logger does not intentionally record full conversation content.
• Correspondence. If you request early access, ask about a listing partnership, or contact support, we receive your contact details and whatever you include in the message.

The current preview has no separate b account, payment checkout, rental application, credit check, or identity-verification process. Please do not send Social Security numbers, bank details, identity documents, or other sensitive information that is unnecessary for an apartment search.

How we use information

We use search context to interpret preferences, rank sample apartments, estimate costs and travel areas, explain matches, and keep your conversation and map in sync. We use technical information to operate, secure, and troubleshoot b, and correspondence to respond to requests and arrange preview access or potential partnerships.

Where an applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the service you request, legitimate interests in proportionate security and support, legal obligations, and consent where required. You may contact us to withdraw consent or object to processing where those rights apply.

Services involved

• ChatGPT / OpenAI provides the conversation and plugin environment and passes tool requests to b. Your use of ChatGPT is also governed by OpenAI’s terms and privacy practices.
• TypeSafe receives relevant apartment-search context, candidate information, and preferences to interpret the request and help rank or explain results.
• OpenRouteService may receive coordinates and travel mode when b calculates a travel area. Some travel areas are precomputed or approximated without a new provider request.
• OpenFreeMap supplies map resources. Picsum and its image hosts supply sample apartment photos. Loading these resources exposes ordinary request information, such as an IP address, to the provider.
• Railway hosts b’s website and server. Google Workspace handles email sent to hello@findwithb.com.

Providers process information under their own terms and applicable agreements. We do not train our own foundation model on your searches. This does not make a promise about every provider’s retention or model-training practices. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The preview does not send renter inquiries to property managers.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business transfer with appropriate protections and notice.

Cookies and browser storage

This website has no advertising trackers, analytics scripts, or nonessential cookies. Its fonts and brand images are served locally. The current b widget does not intentionally write search data to browser storage. ChatGPT and external services may use their own cookies or storage. There are no optional tracking features to enable on this website.

Retention and deletion

Search sessions are kept in server memory. They expire after 24 hours of inactivity, are removed on access or during cleanup every ten minutes, and are lost when the server restarts. Separately, generated travel-area coordinates and shapes may be cached in memory until a restart. These limits do not apply to provider records, diagnostic logs, or correspondence.

We keep correspondence and operational records as needed to respond, run the service, address security issues, and meet legal requirements. Retention varies by record and provider. Contact us to request deletion. Resetting a search clears its adjustments and saved selections but does not necessarily erase its original search context or records held by other providers. Disconnecting b does not delete your ChatGPT conversation; manage that separately in ChatGPT.

Your choices and rights

You can correct search assumptions in the plugin or conversation, stop using b, disconnect it from ChatGPT, and contact us about your information. Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; or appeal a response. These rights may have limits and exceptions.

We will respond within applicable legal deadlines and will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights. You may also contact the privacy regulator where you live. Direct requests about a separate provider’s account or records to that provider.

Security, location, and children

We use HTTPS and service access controls, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. b is operated from the United States; service providers may process information in other countries. Contact us about relevant providers and any safeguards applicable to a transfer.

b’s preview is intended for adults looking for apartments and is not directed to children under 18. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

Changes and contact

We will update this policy as b changes and provide notice of material changes as required. Live listings, application handling, or new data uses would require an updated description of our practices.
