b is an apartment-search plugin for ChatGPT. Renters describe what they need in plain language, and b ranks available homes around their budget, commute and everyday places. We list only what property managers send us, and it is free.
We are onboarding our first Bay Area partners. Until live feeds arrive, the preview uses clearly labelled sample listings.
How listing with b works
- Send your feed. Turn on b in your listing syndication settings, or send us the URL of the feed you already publish to other listing sites.
- We keep it current. b refreshes your feed several times a day. Each file replaces the last one, so a unit you remove comes down on the next refresh.
- Renters reach you directly. Tour and application requests go to the leasing contact in your feed, and each home links to your own apply page.
What renters see
Your units, rents, availability dates, photos, floor plans, amenities, pet policy and lease terms, as your feed describes them. b adds an estimated monthly total (rent, typical utilities and the renter’s commute), labelled as an estimate, and a one-line reason the home fits that person. We do not rewrite your descriptions or alter your photos.
Feed formats and delivery
- MITS ILS XML 4.1 and 5.0, as Yardi, RealPage and Entrata send it.
- Zillow Rental Feed XML 2.0 and 2.1 (the HotPads format).
- We pull from an HTTPS URL you give us (basic authentication is fine), or your system posts the full file to a private HTTPS endpoint with a token we issue. SFTP is available on request.
- Photos load from your feed’s image URLs through our cache. If a feed stops updating for three days, its listings come down until it resumes.
Leads
When a renter asks to tour or apply, b emails your leasing contact with the renter’s name, email, phone if given, move-in timing, the unit, and the source “b”. Replies go straight to the renter. We can also post leads to your guest-card endpoint once it is set up. We never charge for leads or resell them.
Fair housing
b ranks homes on housing preferences and place features only. It does not use race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, familial status, disability, age, marital status, source of income, immigration status or other protected characteristics, and it asks ChatGPT not to send them. The number of bedrooms comes from who is moving and how they live, never from guesses about family. See our fair housing commitment.
Data and security
Feeds travel over HTTPS, each partner has its own credentials, and only b’s servers use them. The renter information we handle is what the renter chooses to include in a request, and we do not sell it. Our privacy policy has the details.
Using Yardi, RealPage, Entrata or AppFolio?
We are applying to each platform’s partner program so you can switch b on alongside the other listing sites you already use. Platforms move faster when a client asks. If you would like your listings in b, a short note to your account manager asking them to add b as a listing destination helps, and we are glad to send the wording.
